the route Ashgabat - Konye-Urgench - Bukhara this route
forms a main leg of the ancient Silk Route. You will spend
most of your time seeing the best of Turkmenistan: enjoy
its modern Asian capital, Ashgabat, sample the famed Akhal-Teke
horses, mingle with the crowds in the colourful Tolkuchka
Bazaar and discover the largest archaeological site world-wide,
the ancient cities of Merv. Watch breathtaking landscape
on a moderate horse-riding tour and a 500 km trip through
the sand desert. Crossing the border into neighbouring
Uzbekistan you will discover the magic cities of ancient
Khanates of Khiva and Bukhara - Konye-Urgench.
Visit 5 major historical spots of Central Asia: Ashgabat,
Konye-Urgench,
Khiva, Bukhara, and Merv
(Mary). Duration 14 days: 11 days Turkmenistan, 3 Days
Uzbekistan. Accommodation 4 Stars / optional one night
overnight stay in traditional yurts, transportation by
air-conditioned vehicles.

Most
visitors arrive in Ashgabat
in the evening or late night where you are picked
up by our staff and transferred to your hotel.

In
the morning we take you on a city tour of Ashgabat
and after lunch we visit the famous Turkmen Carpet
Museum. In the evening we attend a traditional
dinner with folklore dancing which you can take
part in. |

3 |
After
breakfast we drive to the horse riding camp situated
23 km west of Ashgabat near the spectacular Chuli
gorge. According to your riding experience, you
will either take some beginner lessons or come along
on a circular ride into the nearby fields. You spend
the night in the mountaineering hotel in the picturesque
Chuli
Valley nearby. |

4 |
In
the morning we take off on a round trip "Along the
Macedonian path" 23 km into the hills nearby. Then
we return to the camp for overnight. |

5 |
After
breakfast we'll travel to Bakharden
Underground Lake "Kov-Ata". In-route we
will stop by a Geok-Tepe
fortress for a small excursion. Overnight in hotel
Chuli. |

6 |
Morning
visit to the Tolkuchka
Sunday bazaar and the Hippodrome.
After lunch drive to Darvaza oasis and overnight
in camps. |

7 |
Transfer
to Dashoguz
(Tashauz). Visit Kunye-Urgench
and drive to Uzbek border. Transfer and accommodation
in hotel. |

Full
day excursion in Khiva. |

Morning
drive to Bukhara. Evening dinner with folk show

breakfast sightseeing of Bukhara. |

Drive
to Mary via Turkmenabat
