Badai-Tugai
Badai-Tugai Zapovednik (60 km2) was formed in 1971
in the Karakalpak Autonomous Region on a plain of the
Amudarya River. The tugai (riparian) ecosystem accommodates
jackal, steppe cat, fox, and reintroduced Bukharan deer.
The reserve is compromised by the severe condition of
the Amudarya and its proximity to the Aral Sea.
