Yangykala - the
Grand Canyon of Turkmenistan at Sunset in January
The Cliffs of the Canyon are between 60-100 m high and stretch over more than 25 km all the way to the Karabogas Gulf of the Caspian Sea. The colours of the canyons change from bright white over yellow / orange to rust-red in rain. A visit to the canyons is a minimum 3 day trip from Ashgbat and special permits need to be obtained before arrival in Turkmenistan.
